The Quest for a Hebrew Name Continues…

Last night I attended JSpace’s Rosh Hashanah celebration at Hudson Terrace. While waiting for friends to arrive, I settled in with my $12 glass of red wine (this is after having asked the bartender if there were any drink specials to which he replied “they are all special”. Later, I defiantly partook in a FREE heavy pour Blue & White wine tasting).

Over apple slices & honey I struck up a conversation with an Israeli man about my struggle to find a good Hebrew name. Surprisingly he was up to this challenge and asked me a series of questions in effort to getting to know me a bit better. After describing myself in 3 words, preference of earth, wind, fire or water, favorite bird & flower the Israeli man came up with Sigalit…meaning “violet flower”. Not sure how he came upon this but I like it and may give it a test run.
