Marching  with New Yorkers against the immigration and refugee bans.

I’m exhausted and it’s only February. 2017 has already proved overwhelming. Between Trump protests, carrying around a cardboard cut-out of Hillary Clinton, marches, online debates, and school work, I’ve had little time to post…although I have been keeping up with Shiksa-ism’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter presence (so follow me already!). I Ordered a…

screen-shot-2016-11-23-at-9-34-25-pmI ordered a life-size cardboard cut-out of Hillary Clinton. This should be an indicator that the last few weeks have been rough but a possible new Instagram account is being created.   Continue reading “I Ordered a…”

Stop Talking

FullSizeRender.jpg“So let me clarify your stance; you want to burn down the homes of ALL Muslims in the United States in order to encourage them to spy on neighbors that may or may not have been radicalized?” I took another hit from my hookah. Perhaps I had heard this twentysomething incorrectly. I repeated my question.

Just musings today…not necessarily full fleshed out thoughts. so…keep this in mind.

Have Americans Jews Disneyfied Israel?

I put that question out there today because some days I think this to be true. Everywhere I turn I see the imprint Americans have left here via their organizations, private donations etc.and it makes me proud but a tad bit curious as to why we at least in New York City (my “Jewdom”) paint Israel as this utopian society that we as Jews should RUN not walk to make aliyah. Yom Ha’atzmaut

Prior to the start of my conversion to Judaism, I never gave much thought about Israel asides from it being a place of great Biblical importance and a place where bombings seem to be common place. Continue reading “Yom Ha’atzmaut”
